Repairs
Kappa has a dedicated repair department to ensure that DOWNTIME turns into PRODUCTION TIME. Repairs to all types of hydraulic cylinders are carried out to the highest quality standards.

Three Steps:

1. Stripping, assessment and proposal

  • Individual quotation number tagged to cylinder and associated parts, ensuring traceability back to the customer at any stage during the repair process.
  • Components stripped and cleaned.
  • Spare parts kept together in bins to eradicate contamination with other cylinder parts.
  • Failure analysis and damage assessment
  • Itemised and transparent proposal.

2. Customer go-ahead

  • Contact review to ensure Kappa's understanding of customer's specific requirements.
  • Route sheet and job number allocation
  • Drawings made according to specification
  • Cylinder repaired to exact specification
  • First and final inspections carried out in accordance with ISO 9001:2000
  • Pressure testing carried out using new-cylinder procedures

3. Packaging and delivery in optimal refurbished condition.

Design
Kappa Engineering has all the latest design packages, including AutoCAD 2009.
Stock
At any one time, we carry stock of more than 600 tons of tubing, and 200 tons of cylinder chromed rod and cast iron
Honing
We have 21 honing machines capable of honing diameters of up to 1 metre and lengths up to 20 metres.
Chroming
Our grinding and chroming equipment enables us to grind and chrome cylinder rods up to 1.2 metres in diameter and lengths up to 10 metres. We have facilities to strip and repair chromed products.
Machining
Kappa has a full complement of highly experienced, comprehensively trained fitters and turners. Machining is carried out to customer specification using the most sophisticated CNC machines on the market.
Quality
Kappa has gone beyond the procedures required by its ISO 9000:2001 listing, improving each and every system and procedure to maximise all aspects of quality; and reduce lead time to a minimum.
